I've had a need to make things my whole life. I’m happiest when working with my hands.

A sense of place is inseparable from my artistic vision, including memories of the soft lines of the Shenandoah Valley landscape, the granite boulders and color schemes of the Tehachapi Mountains, and the urban landscape of Los Angeles. Through simplicity and abstraction, my sculptures pay homage to the shapes and forms that captivate me while reading, walking, or driving.

My ceramics work is a continuation of lifelong creative practices that include painting, drawing, photography, and teaching. I currently work as a ceramic sculptor in Los Angeles and at a remote cabin in the Tehachapi Mountains.
